November 16, 2014 | Ensemble SCALAConcert Fokker organ | 2014-11-16, 11.00 hours | Small Hall - Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, AmsterdamNotes Between Keys The notes that are in theory 'between the keys of the piano' can certainly be played on the Fokker-organ, the 31-tone guitar and, in particular, on the Carrillo-piano, which counts 96 tones and keys instead of 12 in the octave. During this concert Ensemble SCALA will again perform a lot of these notes by playing exciting compositions. For example, the program includes the premiere of a new composition for ensemble of the Italian composer Lucio Garau, who has written previously an intriguing work for the 31-tone organ and viola da gamba. Besides work of the old master Nicola Vicentino, a composition of the Québec composer François-Gabriel Madden (who composed the piece for the ensemble in 2011) and the Dutch composer Gijsbrecht Roijé will be played.
One can order tickets at the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ. Please note that since this season drinks after the concert are not included anymore.
