The Dutch Microtonal Society has aimed to identify the active participation in the deployment of microtonality within all music disciplines. The society was founded in 2008 by several enthusiastic fans of microtonal music as well as supporters of the Huygens-Fokker Foundation (united in the Friends of the Huygens-Fokker Foundation), to contribute, whether or not autonomic, to the fascinating new developments in microtonality in the world and especially in The Netherlands. Keeping in contact with comparable spirits is one of the goals of the society. Also, the Dutch Microtonal Society (Nederlands Genootschap voor Microtonaliteit) wants to sustain the new activities of the Huygens-Fokker Foundation (centre for microtonal music) by possible participating in their new projects.
