November 10, 2019 | Ere Lievonen, Fokker organ

Concert Fokker organ | 2019-11-10, 11.00 hours | Small Hall - Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, Amsterdam

Bruckner's organ works

Ere Lievonen plays the few works that were composed for organ by Anton Bruckner. He was primarily regarded as the phenomenal organist of, among others, the St. Florian in Linz. He was also invited abroad for concerts in, among others, Notre Dame in Paris and London's Royal Albert Hall. But apart from some youth works, there are few organ compositions by him. Fortunately composer Sigfrid Karg-Elert made organ arrangements of Bruckner's symphonies and composed a Brucknerian Adagio. The Fokker organist Ere Lievonen knows the 31-tone organ like no one else and gives the organ works of Bruckner now the attention and tuning that they deserve.
Tickets can be ordered at the box office of the Muziekgebouw.

This concert is part of the 'Ongehoord Bruckner' festival in the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ.
