Concert - April 17, 2011 | Ere Lievonen, Fokker organConcert | 2011-04-17, 11.00 hours | BAM Hall - Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, Amsterdam31-tone music above the IJ
Organ player Ere Lievonen will perform exciting and delusional 31-tone music high above the IJ. Besides the fact that brand new work will sound on the Fokker organ (including a new composition by Wim de Ruiter), pieces by great masters of early music will be performed. These works are composed in the meantone temperament, a tuning which the Fokker organ is based on and in which the semitones are not equidistant from each other. In contrast to instruments based on our current tempered 12-tone system, this tuning makes it possible to play perfect thirds - intervals that you must have heard!
Tickets can be reserved at the Muziekgebouw. The tickets include a drink after the concert in the Star Ferry restaurant of the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ.
